This one-day first aid course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to reduce the risks and dangers in your workplace.
A range of subjects are covered including:

Understanding the role and responsibilities of a first aider

How to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

How to manage a casualty who is in shock

How to assess an incident

How to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking

How to manage a casualty with a minor injury

How to manage a casualty with external bleeding
The course comprises practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid. All assessment criteria in the units must be achieved.
Learners should wear appropriate and comfortable clothing such as trousers and flat shoes, there is a requirement to participate in practical learning and skills application activities.
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The candidates should re-take this qualification prior to the certificate expiry date to remain qualified. Although not compulsory, it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually.

Candidate requirements:

Must be 16 years of age at the date of assessment.

Must complete full course and all learning hours.

Will be assessed against all learning outcomes in the units taken.
